About the Band
The Good Thymes Ceilidh Band formed in 2008. We play a wide variety of Scottish tunes in the form of jigs, reels, strathspeys, hornpipes, marches, waltzes, and lovely slow airs. The band is comprised of five musicians: fiddles and guitar often changing up the sounds with penny whistle, bodhràn, mandolin, vocals, and occasional step dancing and bagpipes. This group shares their love of Scottish music and performs repertoire that illustrates the shared influences from the old time traditional music often enjoyed in Appalachia and beyond.

Michael Dodge - fiddle, octave fiddle
Originally from Nova Scotia, now resides permanently in East TN. Brings influences of Maritime Old Time and Cape Breton fiddle music to the band
David Pickens- guitar, vocals, piano, front man
Regularly leads the Scottish session at Boyd's Jig and Reel Pub in Knoxville's Old City
Alicia Luttrell- fiddle, whistles, vocals, bodhràn, dance
A native of Maryville, TN, has played violin/fiddle since 1985.
Jenny Boyd - fiddle, mandolin
Owner of Boyd's Jig and Reel: A Musical Pub
Kelsie Shipley - vocals, bodhran, low whistle
A graduate of Auburn & University of Delaware, Kelsie brings her voice and gift of song
